Newtons 2nd Law

By Jonathan

Formulas

  • Acceleration=force/mass A=F/M
  • Force=Mass x acceleration F=MA
  • Impulse=Force x time applied

2nd LAw

  • An impulse is a change in momentum
  • More mass means you need more force to move it
  • Less Mass means you need less force to move it
  • The 2nd law describes how an object accelerates or changes direction when a force is applied.

Examples

  • If a toy car has a mass of 5 grams and an acceleration of 5 in/s
  • It's force will be 25 square inches of force
  • If a car has a mass of 1000 grams and an acceleration of 60 m/h
  • It will have an acceleration of 60000 pounds of force per square foot
