THIS IS THE MODEL

It has 7 Protons and 7 Neutrons

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FIRST

  • Atomic # =7
  • Mass # = 14
  • Protons =7
  • Electrons =7

STEPS

  • The atomic number is at the top of your box
  • The mass is usually at the bottom
  • The atomic number, protons, and electrons are all the same number

NEUTRONS

  • Neutrons =7
  • you subtract the atomic number with the mass

GROUP AND PERIOD

  • Group =2
  • Period =2
  • Your group is going down and up
  • Your period is going right to left

VALENCE AND ENERGY LEVEL

  • Valence electrons =2
  • Energy level =2
  • There the same as your group and period

DRAWING PART

  • The rings around your nucleus depends on your energy levels
  • The little dot/circles are your electrons
  • Only 2 electrons are allowed to be on the first ring
  • 8 on the next and another 8 on the third ring

NEUTRONS

  • Neutrons =7
  • To get the Neutrons you subtract the atomic number with the mass

GROUP AND PERIOD

  • Group =2
  • Period =2
  • Your group is going up and down in the table
  • Period goes left to right on the table

VALENCE AND ENERGY LEVELS

  • Valence electrons =2
  • Energy level =2
  • These are your group and period

DRAWING PART

  • First you draw the nucleus which is the center circle
  • The rings that you see depend on the number of energy levels
  • The dots/circles are the number of electrons

2 8 8

  • There can only be 2 dots on the first ring
  • 8 on the second
  • 8 on the third and so on and so forth
