warnings & caveats

  • Do NOT give honey to a child under 1 year of age
  • Do not rely on this remedy alone to make you well-use common sense!
Honey can contain spores of a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, which can germinate in a baby's immature digestive system and cause infant botulism, a rare but potentially fatal illness

Common sense includes getting rest, drinking plenty of fluids and if you aren't feeling better in a few days, or your illness gets worse--see a physicisan

what you will need:

  • Honey - 1 cup
  • Garlic- 3 TBS minced (approx 4-5 cloves)
  • Fresh Ginger - 1tsp.
  • Cayenne or other hot chili pepper flakes- 1-2 TBS
The cayenne/red pepper flakes are used because they will give the required body response without adding in moisture and chunks of pepper to the honey mix, which would make taking a spoonful more difficult.

you will also need:

  • a medium sized sauce pan
  • a clean jar that can be resealed
  • measuring spoons and cups
  • stirring utensils
