How do we change our physical environment to meet our needs?

  • dig: to make it flat so our buildings don't fall or collapse
  • fill: ditches, holes, water areas
  • tear down: plants and trees

  • grassy
  • we didn't change it at all

  • rocky
  • almost flat, some grass areas, mostly gravel
  • filled the area with dirt and then gravel
  • built up the area surrounding with dirt, created a dip for entrance

example of change: water

  • we created man-made lakes for drinking water
