In response to Pedro Arrupe's, S.J., radical call for us to be men and women for others, Xavier makes the quest for social justice an important aspect of our high school career.
The Aruppe Society is essential to Xavier's commitment to justice. Throughout the year we are beginning to engage in legislative advocacy, combat homelessness and hunger, and educate students on what true justice is.
Experiencing what poverty and injustice is on a first hand basis, causes students to be soddened with a drive for justice. Hence the many service trips to El Salvador, Mexico, and New Orleans.
Xavier has tried to be an extremely open school in regards to gay rights. In doing so we are one of the first school to starts a club dedicated solely to removing the problem out of the closet
The Spectrum is a new club that tries to combat race also bring the problem out of its own closet. We strategically plan meetings with students that explore all aspects of racism
