THE TENNIS COURT OATH

  • The was declared by Third Estate delegates who where locked out of the National Assembly.
  • They pledged that they would not leave until a new constitution was mad.
  • This event is important because it helped lead to the revaluation.

THE REVOLUTION BEGINS

  • The revolution begun in 1789 and ended 1799
  • This revolution caused the death of peasants, noble and King Louis the XVI.

THE DECLARATION OF THE RIGHT OF MAN

  • This document stated that "men are born and remain free and in equal rights".
  • It guaranteed citizen equal justice, freedom of speech, and religious freedom.

  • Born in1759 and die in 1794.
  • He was a leading figure in the French Revolution and was chief force in establishing the first France republic.

  • Born in 1758 and died in 1794
  • His goal was to erase France's bad history, he did by changing the calendar so there is no more Sundays, because he consider religions old fashion and dangerous.
  • He governed France as a dictator and this period in which he ruled was known as the reign of terror.

  • He was born in 1769 die 1
  • In 1795 during a royalist invasion Napoleon and his man sent the invader running, this was start of Napoleon's rise to power.

BATTLE OF ITALY

  • These were a series of battle fought though out Italy.
  • This was important because it gave France control of some part of Italy.

  • This began as an attempt to disrupt British trade with India.
  • Napoleon forces lost the fight however.
  • This battle was important because Napoleon managed to stay know as a hero to people and became empire when he returned.

  • In 1799 Napoleon took control of France as a dictator.
  • Napoleon then put in a set of laws called the Napoleon code.
  • In 1804 Napoleon became emperor of France

AMERICAN TERRITORIES

  • In 1787 France lost its American territories to a slave revolt, and 1801 Napoleon reclaimed it to restore France's sugar industry.
  • How he had to sell it to America because of the fail saint Domingue expedition.

  • During his quest for Europe Napoleon lost one major.
  • This naval battle proved Britons powerful for the next 100 year

  • In 1808 Napoleon removed the king of Spain from power and placed his Joseph in control.
  • Spain's presents fought against the French army for 6 year
  • Napoleon lost over 300000 man during these fights and weakened France army.

THE INVASION OF RUSSIA

  • In 1812 Russia refused to sell any grain to Briton and Napoleon suspected Russia wanted Poland to, so he invade Russia.
  • Alexandra had his army destroy crops and live stock so Napoleon's man had nothing to eat.
  • Napoleon had to retreat from Russia and in the proses his man dropped from 420000 to 10000, thus weakening Frances forces greatly.

THE 100 DAY CAMPAIGN

  • In 1815 Napoleon escaped Elba and reclaimed his lost power
  • Napoleon was defeated by British at the battle of Waterloo.
  • This lose end Napoleon's rain of power. He died in 1821
