LIFE CYCLE

Eggs: 4X2.2 mm in size
Juveniles: resemble adults
Maturity: female at 1-2 years
Male at 3-4 years
Spawning: April-September

Females spawn 6 times every 20 days
300-5000 eggs per female during each year

The goby first invaded Michigan in 1990.

The goby is originally from the Black Sea.
They got to Michigan from ballast water from a European ship.

Goby's don't seem harmful but they are, they take away food and habitat from Michigan native species.

They don't have a specific program to get rid of them but you can help by if you catch a goby out of michigan freeze it and contact someone about it.
