WHERE THEY LIVE AND
THEIR BODY

Pandas mainly live in bamboo forest high in the mountains of western China.

A pandas round head is due to powerful jaw muscles.

Both hands have five finger plus one thumb.

Pandas throat has a special lining to protect it from bamboo splinters.

WEIGHT AND YEARS

They can weigh up to 200 to 300 pounds.

When they are born they weigh at least 4 ounces.

They have lived on earth for 2 to 3 million years.

They live up to 30 to 20 years.

FUN FACTS

Adult pandas are so large they don't have enemies.

A giant panda can peel and eat a bamboo in 40 seconds.

They communicate by tree scratching and scent marking.

After mating, male pandas
leave the female and have no part in the cubs life.

ENDANGERED

The reason why their endangered is because people hunt and kill the pandas for their fur. The bamboo trees get cut down and that's where they live and eat.
