Danny discovers his dad was missing late one night
Danny has discovers his dad secret of poaching pheasants
Danny lets his Dad go poaching in Hazel's wood.

- One morning at 2:10am Danny discovers William is not there.
- Danny thinks William is in trouble.

- Danny drives an Austin seven to Hazell's wood, where he finds his father in a pit-trap with a broken ankle and brings him home.

- While William is recovering they think of a plan to stop Mr Hazell's annual pheasant shooting party.

- To catch the pheasants they invent a method called "sleeping beauty," they put the contents of sleeping pills in raisins which the pheasants love to eat.
