On January 15, 1929, Michael Luther King Jr. was born, but later changed his name to Martin.

Martin skipped 9th and 12th grades in high school. At the age of 15 he entered college.

When Martin married his wife Coretta, they were rejected by a whites only hotel, so they spent the night at a black owned funeral home.
