Buddhism
A religion that focuses on the teachings of peace, kindness, and wisdom. This religion is still around today.
Columbian Exchange
The exchange of goods, plants, animals, and diseases. It's dramatically increased population.
D-Day
The day that allied forces beat Germany on World War II.
Enlightenment
A time period when people turned to scientific methods towards society and government. It inspired that American and French Revolution.
Fourteen Points
It was a plan set by US president Woodrow Wilson to achieve a long lasting peace after World War I.
Holocaust
One of the BIGGEST genocides in history. It was the murder of Jews by, Nazis. Led my Adolf. Hitler.
Industrial Revolution
This started in the late 1700's in which machines started being used instead of "man power" children were also used at this time.
James Watt
James Watt is an inventor. One of his most famous invention is the steam engine. His inventions helped an increase in the Industrial Revolution
Korean War
This was a war fought between North and South Korea. It lasted from 1950-1953
Limited Monarchy
This was a way to limit the government power and share it with parliament.
Middle Passage
This was a sea passage that carried Africans to the Americas to be slaves. They were all forced onto a small ship.
Nationalism
This is a term used to people who are loyal to their country. Or people who believe in the same thing and want to become a separate nation.
Oligarchy
This is a small group of people that hold all of the power to rule.
Primary Source
A document, journal, etc that was made by an eyewitness during a specific time era.
Qur'an
This is a holy book to the Muslims and is a sacred word to god.
Raphael
He is a famous painter that was born in Italy. He is more famous for his Madonna paintings.
Scientific Revolution
A shift from holy/church teachings to scientific theories instead. People started to look towards the stars instead of church teachings.
Trench Warfare
This was a ditch dug into the ground by soldiers during WWI so that the solders had a place to take cover so that they don't get killed. I the middle of the trenches was known as "No Mans Land"
Vietminh War
Ho Chi Minh was a Vietnamese communist. This was a war fought between Vietnam and France. A group of people known as the Vietminh didn't want to return to French rule.
Warfare
From chemical, to amphibious, to biological warfare they were all used in the war to brutally damage their opponent.

He was a Persian King who fought the battle of 300 Spartans and is an example of battlefield heroism.
Yellow Journalism
This is a way that news stories used extreme hyperbole instead of the truth. It often "spiced up" things in 1817
Zeppelins
An air ship used by Germany to bomb Britain. They were easy to take down but caused a lot of damage.
