Hello my name is Robert Horne and I well be telling you about Robert Cavlier and other things about explorers.

I created this definition by reading about explorers and what they did and 10/10 fitted my definition.

Robert Cavlier was born November 22, 1643. Robert Cavlier went to Jesuit college, at first he was interested by priesthood. But at the age of 22 Robert found himself more attracted to being a explorer, traveling the lands and conquering them.

In. 1666 Robert went to Canada to seek money and a good life. Robert started a farm and also made a fur trading outpost near the Lachine Rapids La Salle had made friends with the Indians near his farm and made deals for their pelts that they collected .

But because of Roberts curiosity and need for adventure LaSalle sold the farm and set out to explore the Ohio region.

Robert Cavlier was a fur trader and explorer in Canada. But in 1682 Robert went down to the Mississippi, claiming the hole watershed for France.
Two years later when Cavlier returned to France king Louis XIV gave Robert Cavlier ships and colonists to make France's claim on Mississippi stronger.
With four ships and over two hundred colonists Robert Cavlier set sail in July 1684 but when he landed he had only two ship left and instead of landing close to Mississippi they landed in Matagorda bay, Texas with only half of what Cavlier started with he made his journey to find Mississippi.
Some of the company left for France but the remaining colonists build Fort St. Louis. Cavlier tried to find the Mississippi but in 1687 when Cavlier was on an expedition to find the Mississippi when he was ambushed and killed by his own men.

. Robert Cavlier found the Ohio river while on his exposition of Ohio. All though historians say otherwise
.Robert and the fighting governor of New France built Fort Frontenac on Lake Ontario
.Cavlier built the Griffon, the first commercial sailing boat on Lake Erie
. In 1683 Robert Cavlier built Fort Saint-Louis at starved rock on the Illinois River
.the last thing Robert did was gather a army of French men and Indians to conquer a Spanish colony in Mexico

Studying explorers is important because we need to know the country's history and so we don't make the same mistakes they did.

When your leaving elementary it's like being an explorer because you're going somewhere you've never been to before and there might be treasures there as well.
