  • Definition: Aware; Conscious Of
  • Synonyms: Familiar; Knowing
  • Antonyms: Oblivious; Lacking Knowledge
  • Connotation: Positive because being aware and conscious of what is occurring allows for an individual to make more sagacious decisions
  • Sentence: After Emily was mugged in a mall parking lot, she focused on becoming more cognizant of her surroundings.

Loquacious

  • Definition: Talking Too Much
  • Synonyms: Verbose; Chatty
  • Antonyms: Silent; Quiet
  • Connotation: Negative because I feel that an individual who talks too much doesn't take the time to listen and hear other peoples' point of view.
  • Sentence: While Emily was shy and reserved, her brother Kyle was outgoing and loquacious.
