Chapter 1 pg 3-22
- Title= Life as we knew it.
- "The wheels began to grind. We were on our way." (Wiesel #22)
I titled this chapter Life as we knew it. I named it that way because the people are removed from where they lived, and the holocaust is starting. The quote is from when they are put into cattle cars and being transported. (dehumanization) I used this picture because it's as if a dark cloud came over Elie's neighborhood, just like the picture.

Chapter 2 pg 23-29
- Title= Into the Unknown
- " It must have been around midnight. We had arrived. In Birkenau."
I titled this chapter "Into the Unknown," because in chapter 2 they are being transported to Birkenau, and they don't know what's going on. I chose this quote because it shows where they are headed and sounds dramatic. The background is a dark hallway, because they don't know where they are being taken. (into the unknown)

Chapter 3 pg 29-46
- Title = This is the start of something new...
- "... we arrived at the new camp: Buna.
- The iron gates closed behind us"(Wiesel,46)
I titled this chapter, "This is the start of something new..." because their lives are changing and this is how it's going to be for a while. The quote shows him realizing what's going on and the suspense and drama of it. The background is an iron gate to also add to the suspense of what Buna is going to be like for them.

Chapter 4 pg. 47-65
- Title = The Camp
- "The camp looked as if it had been through an epidemic: empty and dead."

I titled this chapter, "The Camp," because this is when Elie is started to be involved in the camp. He learns about it and gets his kommando. I picked this quote because it shows what Elie's impression of the camp was. The background shows empty hands just like the camp and all the prisoners.

Chapter 5 pg. 66-84
- Title = Where's God when you most need him?
- "Blessed be God's name? Why, but why would I bless him?"

I titled this chapter, "Where's God when you most need him?" I did this because this is the chapter where Elie begins to rebel against God. The quote shows an example of him going against God. The background shows a man praying which ties back to God and religion.

Chapter 6 pg. 85-97
- Title = Trudge on...
- The SS made us increase our pace."Faster, you tramps,you flea ridden dog!"
- (Wiesel, 85)
I titled this chapter, "Trudge on," because this is when they evacuate and march. This quote shows how they were evacuating and how the SS treated them. The background is a dark snow path, because they had to march in the snow and many died.

Chapter 7 pg. 98-104
- Title = The death ride.
- "We had been a hundred or so in the wagon. Twelve of us left."
- (Wiesel, 103)
I titled this chapter, "The death ride," because this is when they are put in the wagon and many of them die from the cold or kill each other. The quote shows the drastic death rate or change. The background is a scary ride, kind of like how they felt in this wagon.

Chapter 8 pg. 104-112
- Title = Father! Father!
- "No prayers were said over his tomb. No candle lit in his memory."
- (Wiesel, 112)
I titled this chapter,"Father! Father!," because this is the chapter where Elie struggles to take care of his Father, and tun he dies. The quote shows the sadness when his father passes away. The background fits with the quote because no candle was lit for his father.

Chapter 9 pg. 113-115
- What have I become?
- From the depths of the mirror, a corpse was contemplating me.
- The look in his eyes as he gazed at me has never left me."
- (Wiesel, 115)
I titled this chapter, "What have I become?" because it is when Elie realizes how much he has changed. The quote shows what he looked and felt like, a corpse. The background shows someone looking at their reflection, as Elie did in the book.
