ACCELERATION

  • Equation = Vf-Vi/t OR Dv/t
  • Acceleration is an increase in the rate or speed of something.
  • Example:
  • A skater goes from a standstill to a speed of 5.7 m/s in 12 seconds.

VELOCITY

  • Equation = S= D/T OR V=D/t
  • Velocity a measure of how fast something has moved in a particular direction
  • Example problem:
  • A sailboat is traveling 100 meters to the north in 120 seconds.
