Summary
Elijah is young boy that lives in a settlement called Buxton of freed slaves in Canada West. He goes to a circus with The Preacher. He tells Elijah that he could help the settlement, but Preacher ends up doing something else. Elijah also goes to America (Michigan) and becomes hero.

What I Liked
I liked how author made the story behind the point of view of a young kid. It had more detail and has enjoyable to read

What I Didn't Like
I had a hard time reading the book at the beginning because it had a lot of slang and lot did not make sense and was kind of confusing til the end of the book
