GIANT PANDA BIOME

  • Giant pandas live in a few mountain ranges in central China
  • They once lived in lowland areas, but farming, forest clearing, and other development now restrict giant pandas to the mountains

CONTINENTS

  • It could be found in China or Japan
  • There are non in the united states

THE FOOD CHAIN

  • The panda is located on the second level of the food chain
  • They eat the plants and other eat the panda

SOURCE OF FOOD

  • There primary source of food was bamboo

  • The giant pandas niche is to eat the shrubs and bamboo

  • The giant panda has a prominent bleack and white fur.
  • The giant panda will eat up to 20 different types of bamboo
  • They have the biggest teeth of any Carnivore.
  • They lie down anywhere the panda wants to.
  • The panda uses stumps to mark its own territory

  • The infants weigh 140g when they are born.
  • The pandas stay with their mother for 18 months
  • They are good swimmers
  • They are also good tree climbers
  • Pandas can climb up to 4,000 ft high.

WHY THEY ARE ENDANGERED

  • The Giant Panda is an endangered species threatened because of of low birth rate
  • Panda hunting, habitual destruction is why.
  • Some land development also help the pandas become less and less

MEASURES BEING TAKEN

  • They made special sanctuaries for them.
  • Also they have 500 acres in China just set for the Pandas
  • Also the Americans are doing experiments on them.
  • People are donating money to WWF.
  • In America they have set out 200 acres of land for the pandas
