Chapter 4 Vocabulary
Blatant- brazenly obvious; flagrant
Sinewy- having strong sinews
Taboo- proscribed by society as improper unacceptable
Malevolently- wishing evil or harm to another or others; showing ill will; ill-disposed; malicious

Chapter 4 Summary
In chapter 4 the younger boy's continue to talk about the "beastie" and have nightmares. Henry was the distant relative of the boy with the mulberry-marked face that had been missing since the great fire. Roger and Maurice stomp on the younger boys sand castle and throw rocks but don't hit them. Jack and the rest of the hunters camouflage their faces in order to try and kill the pig. On the horizon Ralph see's a ship but the signal fire is not lit so the people on the ship don't know that there is somebody on the island.

Chapter 5 Summary
Ralph calls a meeting regarding the upholding of the group rules. He reminds everyone that there are no beast or monsters but the younger boy says he did see the beast.
