BEHAVIOR

  • lions live in large groups called "prides,"

  • They sleep during the day
  • Do most of the hunting at night

  • Lions are the second largest big cat species in the world
  • The roar of a lion can be heard from 8 kilometers away
  • darker manes are more likely to attract female lions
  • Lions in the wild live for around 12 years.
  • Lionesses are better hunters than males
