• They use radars and satellites 
• They also have a certain type of sonar.
• This detects underground movement

• A tsunami hit North East Japan killing 5 people.
• It destroyed boats, homes, and cars.
• The tsunami was estimated to be 10 meters long in March 1st 2014.
• The tsunami season is June through December in Japan.

• 6 years after Columbus set sail the worlds biggest tsunami hit.
• It had a 8.6 magnitude 
• It was 56 feet tall
• 31,000 people lost their lives that day
