PRESENTATION OUTLINE

YELLOW GUARDIAN

BY:AINSLEY, MEGAN, AND BIANCA

HABITAT

THE ANIMAL LIVES IN FORESTS OR RAIN FORESTS

BASIC NEEDS

  • Water
  • Food
  • Oxygen
  • Climate (warm)
  • Shelter

How these needs are met
Shelter- Builds small shelters in the leaves of tall trees. Unlike a nest, this shelter is rather big and it's usually made out of sticks and twigs.

The animal gets oxygen by breathing.

The animal gets food by hunting down other animals such as insects, small rodents, worms and anything that tries to kill it.

The animal gets water by drinking water from a river, lake or any type of water form.

It's fur changes to white when it's hot and turns slightly darker when it's cold! This is how it adapts to it's climate!

The Yellow Guardian has sharp claws to climb up trees, since it's shelter is in a tree. It's claws retract back into it's paw. These features are also used for hunting prey.

Why is our animal called the Yellow Guardian?
When an animal comes up to the tree, the Yellow Guardian attacks the animal and guards it's home.

Where does the Yellow Guardian live?
It lives in South America, in the forests of Brazil. But, it can be found all around South America. The Yellow Guardian is very rare in other countries.
