PRESENTATION OUTLINE
THE NIGHT OF THE POMEGRANATE
Harriet has to make a project on the solar system for school.
She's a mess because she stayed up late looking at Mars and has no time to work on her project. Her project is messed up because she was in a rush and ran out of tape and had to use gum.
Harriet watches Mars with Mrs. Pond late at night. Mrs. Pond says that the universe is like a pomegranate and the little seeds are like the stars and planets.
Harriet goes to school with her messed up project the next morning. And sees other kids really good projects. Then gets jealous. When it's her turn to share her project her teacher finds out that she was watching Mars instead of working on her project. So she has Harriet talk about the night before and Harriet started with the pomegranate.
The flashbacks are important because in the end she uses her flashbacks about watching Mars with Mrs. Pond to explain her project and to explain the night before.
