  • A cell is a membrane-covered structure that contains all of the materials necessary for life. All living things are made of cells

Nucleus- Contains the DNA material. Usually the largest organelle in the cell.

Cell wall- gives the cell structure, only found in plant cells.

Cell Membrane- Thin, semi-permeable layer that controls what goes in and out of the cell.

Organelle- specialized structure within a cell that performs a specific function that enables the cell to live and reproduce.

Chloroplasts- An organelle found in plant cells in which photosynthesis occurs.

Cytoplasm- the jelly-like inner part of the cell that suspends the organelles.
