BACKGROUND
- He was born on November 11, 1885.
- He suffered from Dyslexia andhad trouble in school.
- He went to Virginia Military institute for one year.
- Then to The US military institute in New York without taking a entry test.
- He married his wife, Beatrice Ayer, in 1919.
DURING THE WAR (1)
- The US entered the war after Pearl Harbor attacks in December, 1941.
- In 1941 he commanded the 1st and 2nd arnored division in a training camp.
- In late 1942 he was transfererd to Africa to be the general.
- In mid 1943 he stopped leading Africa and orgonized the invasion of Sicily.
DURING THE WAR (2)
- He invaded Sicily which was a major success.
- Post Sicily he was granted commander of the Third Army.
- He landed on France and pushed throught Europe.
- Held the Germans in their offensive called The Battle of the Bulge.
- After the Germans retreated he drove into Germany taking town after town until Berlin.
POST WAR
- Russia ended up taking Berlin which ended the war.
- Patton later died in a auto accident in Germany on his way to go hunting.

- He gave America their first big victory on the European side.
- His invasion of Sicily was a success giving bombers range into Europe.
- He played a huge role defending the Germans counterattack in the Battle of the Bulge.
- He helped liberate concentration camps on their way toward Berlin, mostly while in Germany.
