what is leadership to me ?

For me, leadership is... the continued PROCESS of working selflessly to guide, support, encourage serve and empower a group towards a shared vision!

Who am I as a leader...

  • Authentic / Real - a counselor at heart and relational to the core!
  • Positive and enthusastic - Passionate, a bit competitive and love to have fun!
  • Hardworking - I will go the extra mile and model hard work for my team!

Who am I as a leader...

  • Trustworthy - you can count on me and if I say it, I will do it!
  • Competent - I pride myself on knowing what I need to know, if I don't I will find out!
  • Creative - I love to problem solve and think outside the box!

My leadership Style...

  • Democratic Style:
  • Focus on building teams
  • Strive for shared leadership
  • Engage all stakeholders
  • Use feedback and work toward common vision
  • Look for and empower strengths in others

Me as an Instructional Leader...

  • I am continuing to increase my knowledge in curriculum, instruction and assessment.
  • I firmly believe in the power of assessment to gain data, which should drive instruction.
  • I will fully embrace the power of teamwork and develop collaborative teams to harness the power and knowledge of the group.

Me as an instructional leader...

  • I need master teachers and will serve and support them in their efforts to increase student achievement and learning.
  • I will be available and present for teachers, working to provide them necessary instructional and assessment resources.
  • With our teams, I will place effective CIA at the center or our continual improvement plan.

How I will address change... (1st order)

  • Gather info and data - meet individually with staff, use surveys for feedback.
  • I want to build on our strengths, focusing on what is working well.
  • Enhance and maximize current knowledge and skills.
  • Work on developing a positive culture around shard beliefs.

How I will address change... (2nd order)

  • I will increase overall knowledge of CIA and focus on effective PD.
  • I plan to encourage stimulate staff, deveoping teacher leaders.
  • Be catalysts for change, ensuring clearing communication and amble resources.
  • I will work to continue to strengthen relationship and remain open and flexible.

As a leader, what do I believe..

  • Schools need to be a warm and welcoming community
  • All students deserve our best efforts and resources in their learning journey
  • Teamwork is the key ingredient in effective education
  • Together, we need to be on the same page, guided by our leaders

As a leader, what do I believe...

  • Effective communication, transparency & trust are critical
  • Organization and consistency are a must
  • Relationships are the key to success
  • It is essential for leaders be professional and ethical
  • Persistence, positive attitude and hard work sustain our efforts

What others think of me as a leader...

  • Rated as having strong leadership skills
  • Seen as having a strong ethical foundation
  • "Your positive attitude, your eagerness to learn all you can, and the excitement you show are all such positive attributes"
  • "You display professionalism to everyone and always have the needs of students as your first priority"

What sets me apart as leader..

  • Extremely strong relational / human skills, allowing me to work well with all types of people
  • Innate sense to lead and help others, proven in my experience and leadership roles
  • Passion for and ability to bring others together and postively influence them

What sets me apart as leader...

  • Willingness to address challenges through collaboration and teaming
  • Temperment to remain calm and take charge during difficult circumstances or situations
  • Strong knowledge base, with an intense desire to continue to learn and improve... I strive to be the best!

There is a relationship between leadership and student achievement. Leadership matters!
