What Did My Explorer Do?
Hudson is famous for discovering Hudson Bay, Hudson River and the Hudson Strait.
He sailed across the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
He made four attempts to find the Northeast and the Northwest passage to Asia but never succeeded.
He traded steel and axes for gold and spices.
On his last trip, his crew took over the ship and pushed Hudson overboard in a small boat with his son and a few sick men with no food or water.
No one saw them again.

How Did My Explorer Explore?
When he went exploring he needed a ship with lots of fresh water.
He needed food, a ship with good sails and a good crew.
He needed steel and axes to trade and a map, coat and warm clothes because life on the sea was cold.
He also needed a compass and maps to find his way.
