Poaching impacts our health, a country's economy, and the environment.

IMPACTS ON OUR HEALTH

  • Linked to zoonotic diseases
  • Diseases: Ebola, Bird Flu, Monkey Pox, and Heartwater Disease
The U.S. Center for Disease Control stated, "75% of diseases reach humans."

IMPACTS ON THE ECONOMY

  • Loss of tourist attractions
  • Raise in criminal activity
  • Undermining of economic development

How can we help? As students of Hershey Middle School we can spend our advisory time to enhance and support efforts to combat poaching of protected species.
