Abraham

  • Abraham, originally Abram, is the first of the three biblical patriarchs. His story, told in chapters 11 through 25 of the Book of Genesis, plays a prominent role in Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Abraham

  • Abraham woke up every day and had to decide to follow God, so the same is with us.

Life as a Wanderer

  • The life of a shepherd was difficult. Rain was seasonal. If the land was brown then there was likely not water, if the grass was green then likely there is a water sources somewhere. Israel gets a lot of water, but it all comes in a short period of time.

Life as a Wanderer

  • Water and resources was the issue for Abraham and Lot. They are in a very prosperous time, however, the problems stem from a lack of resources to support their wealth.

Live @ Peace

  • God test us to see if our faith is real. We need to live in peace with others because we don’t want to our witness to be tarnished because of our behavior. Is there anyone that you need to make peace with today?

They Seperate

  • Abraham allows Lot to choose first
  • Love is more important than our personal rights.

Peace

Lot

  • 1. Lot does not seek peace among the helpers 2. Lot is selfish 3. Lot was unbelieving

Lot

  • Lot sees all the things that he desired. A city, prosperity, schools and commerce. Lot ignored the wicked people living there. Lot should have consulted with God.

Lot

  • Romans 15:2-3
  • What do our choices reveal about us? Do your choices base on what will bring you closer to God?

Lot

  • Initially, Lot benefits and he raises to a position of power (Genesis 19). Lot was not happy.

Lot

  • Loses his wife...
  • Incestuous realtionships
  • There are many effects of choosing the world as Lot did.

Lot

  • John 17:15-16
