ACCEPTANCE RATES AND SCHOOL COSTS

  • Stanford's acceptance rate as of 2015 was 5%. This was the lowest acceptance rate recorded in Stanford history.
  • The tuition at Stanford for both in and out of state is $49,892. For room and board its $13,166.
  • Meal plans range from $1,800-$5,761

The undergraduates applied AND admitted 6,999. And the graduates admitted are 9,771 making the total admitted 16,770. Stanford has over 650 student group clubs. 44 of them are religious and 88 of them are dedicated to the Arts. Student demographics at Stanford are diverse in people for the states and from other countries. A fun fact about Stanford is that if your parents make less than 120,000 a year you get financial aid once you're accepted.

When Stanford looks at your application they look at your GPA, Class rank, Rigor of your secondary schooling, Your standardized test scores, Essay, Talents, Extracurricular activities, and personal qualities. The average SAT score accepted at Stanford is 2210 and the average ACT score accepted was a 33.

The minimum GPA Stanford will accept is a 3.70. The student teacher ratio at Stanford is 4:1. The teaching methods used adjusts to the needs of the students. On average for the medical program at Stanford there are about fewer than 20 students in a classroom.

WHAT TO DO TO PREPARE FOR A MEDICAL CAREER AT STANFORD

  • To study medicine at Stanford you need to be a graduate of a four year college
  • Taken 4 years of Biology
  • Must take chemistry ( inorganic and organic)
  • Physics and mathematics
  • Behavioral and social sciences
  • And a foreign language class

Once you've received your bachelor's degree you will apply and enter the School of Medicine at Stanford. Your degree plan would be M.D. and that will require a state medical license in the profession you've chosen (ex: orthopedic surgery) and 4-5 year residency in a hospital. You must complete the M.D. program within a time frame of six years. If you need extended time you'll have to ask the administration. The total number of years spent on preparing and becoming a doctor at Stanford may total up to 10-16 years.

Stanford has a lot of trouble with burglary and motor vehicle jacking so be careful.

The reason I chose Stanford was because it was the first college I've ever heard of when I was small and its campus is beautiful, they have the program's I'd like to be in, and it's located in my favorite state.
