WHAT IS A HABITAT?

Habitat (n)- An environment where animals and plants get what they need to survive

EXAMPLES OF HABITATS

  • Grasslands-flat areas of grass where multiple animals rome
  • Deserts-a very dry area, little or no water, low precipitation
  • Forests- many trees, a lot of precipitation, high temperatures

WHAT IS AN ECOSYSTEM?

Ecosystem (n) a community of biological organisms working together in their regular surroundings

SOME ECOSYSTEMS ARE

  • Tropical rainforest- precipitation 250 cm year, contains more species than other biomed
  • Deserts- little precipitation,90cm year, wide and open space. In parts of Africa,South Africa,and Australia
