PRESENTATION OUTLINE

NOT CONCENTRATING

BY PERLA AND SIBONEY

WHAT IT MEANS

  • To let your thoughts wander rather than to concentrate on what is being said.
  • To give in to physical and mental distractions.

FACTS

  • Your brain is 73% water.
  • It takes 2% dehydration to affect your attention memory and other cognitive skills.
  • We talk at a rate of 120 to 150 words a minute but the brain can process 400 to 800 words a minute
  • Makes it harder to listen when your brain can process 400-800 words a minute.
  • Multitasking makes you less productive.

MORE FACTS

  • Your attention span is 8 seconds.
  • Because we still have spare "brain time" we are tempted to interrupt our listening by thinking about other things.
  • When you multitask it makes work 50% less valuable & takes 50% longer to finish
  • After losing attention from a topic a person may restore it by resting.
  • We can only remember 3-4 things simultaneously
