Stefan was the guy who came back to the town for Elena. He wanted to know her and make sure that she is not like that girl that he knew.
Damon is Stefan brother. He and Stef doesn't get along with each other because Stef was the one who turned him into a life of Vampire.
Elena is a girl from Gilbert's family she is a doppelgänger or evil twin of Katherine Pierce who was Damon and Stefan lover in 18's
Caroline is a friend of Elena Gilbert. In the beginning of the season she was a normal person and Damon turned her to a vampire because he wanted to make Stefan get mad.
Bonnie is Elena's bestfriend. She was just a human too then one they she was getting into about witchy stuff so she get deeper and asked her Grandma who is she. And she realized she is a witch.
