SYMPTOMS
Symptoms of severe hypothermia: slowing heart rate and breathing, dilated pupils, coma.

PREVENTION
Head is major source of heat loss, so wear scarfs, toques, etc.
Insulate body with appropriate clothing
Have good wind-proof shell layer jacket

REDUCING HYPOTHERMIA
Warm drinks (hot chocolate)
Do not give direct heat to person with hypothermia
Take off any wet clothing
Wrap person in warm blankets

MATERIALS
Tinder: paper, leaves, grass, bark, resin, shredded sticks
Kindling: small dry sticks/twigs, dead branches on undersides of trees
Fuel: dead tree branches. Add large pieces of wood to your fire after it's burning, and make sure wood is as dry as possible
