Civil Rights Activist 

Lorraine was born in the San Fransico bay area in 1954 

She grew up during civil change in the 60s 

As a child, she watched rallies from the sidelines 

Marches inspired her to promote equality 

She majored in Social Work at SFSU 

As a student she participated in civil protests 

She went on to create NOW 

She served and organized different causes for social change

She was recognized for her work within the community 

She is now retired but still wants to encourage change
