PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Invasive plants are one of the most troublesome ways of destroying native plants and wild flowers because they are constantly trying to take over the native ecosystem of which other plants live in.

The scotch broom plant has been a destructive way to take over native plants for years and due to the fact that they carry thirty thousand seeds with them and how their seeds burst out, they spread like wildfire and they produce wildfire.

One amazing way I learned to save native plants is to take the invasive plants them out of the ecosystem of which they’re destroying and in doing so beautiful wild flowers can grow back.

The reason the scotch broom has spread to galiano Island is because of this one woman from Scotland, she loved the yellow flowers on the scotch broom so she decided to share it with everyone and while she was on the train she threw a lot of seeds out the window and due to the fact that scotch broom seeds burs out when the ones who the woman threw grew up when they had seeds it would burst out 6 feet and over the course of many years and the help of the wind the scotch broom made it to galiano.

Another invasive species I see a lot in surrey is black berry you may not know it but the delicious black berry that you eat are invasive and they are trying to take over other plants so heres a tip don't plant blackberry's with other plants and I know from personal experience
