High Tech High, is a California based nework of charter Schools.

High Tech High Focuses on these 4 Standards-

  • Equity- Teachers address inequities to help students reach their full potential.
  • Personalization- HTH uses inclusive approach in all classrooms, for all students.
  • Authentic Work- HTH uses multiple disciplines to create beautiful and meaning for work.

Collaborative Design-

  • Teachers and Students collaborate to create curriculum and projects. One of the ways this is done is by inncorporating student design partners.

HTH is a Stem-Based program. It focuses on Math, Science, Technology and Engineering and offers services to students K-12, along with an Adult Education program.

HTH History-

  • High Tech High was established in September of 2000 as a small public Charter School.
  • Originally it served 450 students today it serves 5,300 students in the California Area and has an intergrated network of thirteen charter schools.

Admission-

  • Like many charter schools HTH has a lottery system.
  • Informational meetings are held often to inform the public about the schools.

HTH Standards

  • According to the HTH website public schools have focused on only a few standards.
  • High Tech High K-12 have overturned these tenets by:
  • Using a lottery system to admit students
  • Intergrating hands, hearts and minds through various projects.

HTH Standards

  • Engaging students in the adult world of through field work and internships in the community.

Learning in the 21 century...

  • Students are being taught to learn in a technology driven society.
  • Classrooms are engaging and student lead, with a teacher to facilitate learning.
