How did the Harlem Renaissance spark a revolution in art, music and literature within the African American community?

Harlem Renaissance #1
New York had a cultural movement during the 1920s. Blocks celebrated their African heritage and they explored new ideas new modes of self-expression. Harlem was a period of intense creativity in music and visual arts as well.

Harlem Renaissance #2
Southern blacks musicians brought jazz with them to the north and to Harlem. Mass migration of African Americans form industrial agricultural south to the urban industrial north.

Harlem Renaissance #3
Harlem was a complex movement of which blacks intellectuals writers, musicians, actors, and visual artists. It was also the flowering of sociopolitical expression of black pride. It was a curious of mix of black creativity and black exploitation.

Harlem Renaissance #4
During the Harlem Reaissance, Alain Locke called it the "New Negro Movement". It also included creative works produce by brilliantly talented dancers, musicians, and visual artists, and photographers.
