  • New York stock exchange was busy with people
  • Men wanted to put stocks on everything but some wanted to dump the stock
  • More stocks got expensive fast
  • People could sell their stocks

TRADING DAY

  • Half an hour into trading day, 3 million shares were traded
  • People who couldn't afford stocks would just pray
  • Safe deposit companies would store valuables insecure vaults
  • Savings banks were crowded with people who wanted to reaver their savings

PAWN SHOPS

  • People wanted to seek their belongings to help pay for food
  • You could sell something worth $5,000 for $300

  • They were looking for ways the use their own wealth to help but it didn't work
  • He called a meeting in the basement so no news would travel
  • Everything would move downwards quickly
  • Some governors were scared the stock exchange would collapse
