PRESENTATION OUTLINE
When people throw away garbage a bit of stuff goes to landfills, but most garbage don't, instead it ends up spreading itself around the world by either wind, water or humans. humans, animals and plants all need unpolluted water to survive. Litter can clog drains that causes flooding. Litter is a problem because it damages area where we live, walk and where little kids play.
Garbage is endless, they’re just everywhere. 80% is garbage is from land for to the ocean especially plastic bags, straws, bottles and cans. Every minute, one garbage truck with plastic is dumped into the ocean. Yearly about 1.4 billion of trash ends up in our ocean. When garage reaches the ocean it goes to beaches. Over 100 million marine animals are killed each year from garbage in oceans.
Land pollution has led to a lot of issues. Pollution affects humans, plants, and animals health, also causes air pollution, affects wildlife and soil pollution. Land is being polluted and abused constantly around the world. About one million birds and about 100,000 mammals and sea turtles die each year. Every living thing needs unpolluted land, air and water to survive.
We need to stop littering. There is a lot of littering in the world. One amazing rule we have did was ban straws. We throw away to much stuff that could change by using reusable bags, use more stuff that could be organic and of course stop littering. Years back people didn’t really care about garbage and recycling that’s how up till now pollution is so bad.
one way our class helped on Galiano island was we didn't take any garbage. If we had garbage we kept it in our backpack until we got back home or saw a garbage can. while we were hiking up there we didn't see any garbage. some people are banning straws which is gonna be less garbage around the world.
