BATTLE AT FALLEN TIMBERS
- General Wayne had an infected leg, but he was still prepared to battle
- General Wayne had led American soldiers to attack an Indian camp
- The British didn't help the Indians
AN IMPORTANT TREATY
- Little Turtle, Blue Jacket and other Indians met with General Wayne and they made a peace treaty in the Untied States
- In the treaty, the Indians gave up a large part of land, which later became parts of Ohio
THE STARS AND STRIPES OVER MICHIGAN
- On July 11, 1796 Captain Porter led American soldiers to take over the British fort
- After they captured the fort, General Wayne was known as a great hero but he died on the way home
- People of Michigan had mixed feelings about the change of government and many didn't want anything to do with Americans
