  • When the blue and white niles grow full they dump into the main river
  • The lower Egypt is lower in elevation
  • Egyptians only have three seasons Akhet, Peret, and shemu.
  • When the bad Nile happens towns will flood.

  • Slaves are the lowest class in the Egyptian society
  • The scribes and noblemen are in the class before the king
  • Noblemen and priests prech and collect tax
  • Merchants, craftsmen, scribes were the people that made things in the town
  • When you work hard you can move up in the social classes

  • The old kingdom is best known for its huge structures they built
  • Egyptian kings in the old kingdom build these structures
  • The large stone pyramids served as houses or tombs for the dead kings
  • To build the pyramids the Egyptians needed to learn mathematics, geometry, engineering, and Architecture
  • Ancient Egyptian pharaohs or God-Kings, had workers build huge pyramids to serve as tombs

  • Egyptians use pictures to represent letters in their language
  • The language has letters with two pictures their language is called hieroglyphics
  • They put it on stone and clay but then they put it an paper
  • The paper was called papyrus
  • Paper made it easier for Egyptians to keep records

  • Ancient Egyptians referred to their king as the pharaoh
  • A pharaoh is a god by whose dealings one lives the father and mother of all without an equal
  • Hatshepsut had to put on a beard and male clothes just so the people would think she was a man
  • Hatshepsut was a girl pharaohs when only boys could be king
  • She is described with a male pronoun
