ELECTRON!!!

The cathode ray tube is a heated filament. the heated filament is a vacuum created inside a glass tube.
The ray is a stream of electrons that naturally pour off the heated cathode into the vacuum.

Cathode Ray Tube- this is what he used to discover the electrons

Plum Pudding Model

  • The plum pudding model is a model of an atomic structure
  • This model was incorrect because it didn't have a nucleus

Fun Facts

  • He discovered the electron when he was 41
  • He enrolled in trinity college at the age of 14
  • His only son became a professor at a university in London
  • he was awarded a Nobel peace prize in physics in 1906
  • he was the most influential pioneer of nuclear physics

More Fun Facts

  • he had 2 kids in total
  • he married one of his students in 1892
  • he died in 1940
  • he published 13 books with more than 200 pages each
  • he was buried next to Issac Newton and Charles Darwin
