The founder of the Massachusetts colony is John Winthrop. John Winthrop founded this colony in 1630.

This colony was founded because of Religious Puritans. These people were like the pilgrims because they were looking for religious freedom.

There were many people who settled in Massachusetts. All of them were Puritans.

Massachusetts has many bays. With a humid climate , and warm summers and cold snowy winters.

The economy of the colony mostly relied upon trading. Most every trader in the colony used ships to trade.

In the colony of Massachusetts citizens were Puritans. They enforced a strict moral code were strong advocates of modesty, decorum, and propriety.

Massachusetts colony was a charter colony. Granted this New England charter colony was mostly self governed.
