• The Independent Youth Movement is the first youth group to take to the streets on March 15th
• They continues to organize local and national activities and protests
• They are driven by national concerns

Language

• The main language that everyone speaks is Arabic

RIGHTS & CONFLICT

• The citizens have virtually no rights or power
• They have no weapons to defend themselves against the attacks of the military

Influential People

• Mahmoud Darwish was a very inspiring figure for the paletines
• He joined the Israel communist party and worked in the "Etihad" newspaper
• He got a scholarship in Moscow in 1970
• He won many awards including the Lotus Prize in 1969 and The Mediterranean Award in 1980
