As Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, the crowd waived their palm branches and shouted, "Praise God for the son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest heaven!"
The religious leaders were threatened by Jesus and plotted to kill him. Judas made a deal to assist them in his arrest for 30 silver coins! But Jesus knew this had to happen to fulfill the scripture.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Jesus was buried in a tomb...(Luke 24) but very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking spices they had prepared. They found that the tomb had been rolled away from the entrance. They went in, but they didn't find the body of the Lord Jesus.
