Hedy Lamarr is an important woman in the history because not only was she a successful Hollywood actress, she went further, was the owner of a privileged mind and the author of a communications system on which all existing technologies are based.
She was an Austrian actress, engineer and inventor who stood out for having invented the first version of the widened spectrum that allowed long-distance wireless communications.
She was born just three months after the outbreak of World War I and came from a family of Jews. Her father was a cowboy and her mother a pianist and, thanks to her good economic and social position, they were able to offer her daughter a safe life in those difficult times.
