HISTORY

  • Founded - BMW was originally founded as Karl Rapp Motorwernke on 28 October 1913 when he was 31.
  • Renamed - Karl Rapp Motorwernke was renamed BMW on 17 March 1916 after the departure of Karl Rapp from the company.

MANUFACTURE

  • Aircraft - BMW made aircraft engines until 1923 and stopped after the manufacturing of motorcycles
  • Cars - They began to make cars under the license of Austin Motor in 1929 and under their own design in 1932
  • Motorcycles - BMW began to make motorcycles in 1923 with the R23 model as their first.

PRICE

  • Current Price - BMW car prices start between $30,025 and $103,225. The entry-level 1 Series and the top-of-the-line M6 model represent the cheapest and most expensive of all BMW models respectively.

KARL RAPP

  • Karl Rapp was born on 24 September 1882 in Ehingen, Germany.
  • He died on 26 May 1962 (aged 79) in Locarno, Switzerland
  • Little is known of Karl Rapp's childhood and adolescent years.

  • Fair trade is a social movement whose stated goal is to help producers in developing countries achieve better trading conditions and to promote sustainable farming
  • The role of the consumer in fair trade is very important. They have to make the choice of whether to buy cheap or pay a little extra to buy fair trade.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

  • The definition of carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere as a result of the activities of a particular individual, organization, or community.
  • The average person uses 4.5 metric tons of carbon emissions each year.
  • BMW has taken a big step by trying to reduce their carbon footprint by making the switch to electric powered cars, for example the BMW i8.
