Food Presentation

Preparing

• My dad and I will begin to make the mini pretzel bites (around 50 bites) the day before, so it is very fresh for the day of my presentation.
• I will set aside 3 bowls. One containing mustard, another bowl with cinnamon, and the final bowl with hummus.

• Spoons, plates, and napkins will be set aside the night before, so everyone will be able to enjoy without causing a huge mess.

• The poem which is prepared to be read to the class will be prepared and ready.
• The recipe page will be printed out, so it can be placed in the American Dream Cookbook.

• I will create a short movie that includes pictures and short videos from my childhood which includes food. There will be background music as well.

The dining day

• The mini pretzel bites will be laid out on a tray. Beside it will be the 3 bowls each with spoons. Napkins, spoons, and plates will be placed on the table.
• Before the class gets up to get the mini pretzels, I will show the video to the class.

THE DINING DAY CONTINUED

• Next, I will read the poem to the class. Following, I will conduct the writing activity. This writing activity will instruct the class to either write a poem about a food which reminds them of a special time within their lives, or write a poem about the process of making food. While writing try to include the use of a simile, a metaphor, or an alliteration.

• Everyone who wants a pretzel bite can get around 2-3 and take any topping that they choose to put on their bite.
