  • can steal your personal information
  • you never know when one person is framing as someone else

how to avoid it

  • Be suspicious if someone contacts you out of the blue
  • don't forget your online safety rules
  • ask for proof of who they really are
  • trust your gut
  • if you don´t think you know the person who is friending you, don´t friend back

when you think you are being catfished

  • never, ever give your personal information to the fake person
  • if you are not sure who the people actually are, don´T panic, just ask them certain info on who they are trying to be
  • if you know that the person is actually a fraud, contact
  • reverse lookup their profile images, meaning copy the image and paste it into a google search. if there are more than one photo, or even profile of that person
