Asian of all Kinds, Chinese,Asian Indian, Korean, Filipino,Vietnamese,Japanese,Korean.

Changes that Asian American fought for is...

  • Many Asian American faced difficulty because they were not white and want the end the racism.
  • One key battle that Asian American fight for is the Japanese Internment Camps.

How Asian Americans achieve this...

  • Through Yellow Power. Students from college called upon ethnic studies in college.
  • They also are inspired by the "Black Power" that made them speak out. The first day of Remembrance was held in Seattle in 1978. Congress apologized and give each survivor 20,000 for the loss because of the Japanese American Citizens League.

Successes

  • Japanese American was successful in organizing their own programs to end racial through "Yellow Power".
  • Talk about the hardship that they have in the past and make a Remembrance Day for it.

Station Notes

  • They called for Asian student to develop Asian studies for United Community.
  • They also wanted to integration and an end to racism, especially the negative stereotyping of Asian in the media.
